The “OSCQR” (Open SUNY Course Quality Review) rubric and website are tools that SUNY Broome faculty can use to develop and assess the design of their online course from a usability and accessibility perspective. OSCQR’s focus is on the course design rather than on the course delivery and the OSCQR process results in a comprehensive Action Plan for the Course Developer to consider when developing or refreshing their online course.
SUNY Broome OSCQR Review Request Form
The Instructional Designers are available to provide you with a review of your online or blended course using the Open SUNY Course Quality Review rubric. The focus of the review is on the design, functionality, navigation, and accessibility of the content you present to students and is not an evaluation of your content itself. Please use the form above to request an OSCQR review.
(You must be logged in to your SUNY Broome Gmail account in order to complete the form.) Once the review is assigned, the Instructional Designer will create a copy the course you identify into a master shell, as it is not good practice to review a live course in which students are actively working. You can then make any needed changes in your master course and use that to roll into your course shells in future semesters.
We invite you to take a look at all that OSCQR has to offer by visiting the Interactive OSCQR Website or by downloading a printable version of the rubric OSCQR version 3.1 (pdf).
