What’s the Buzz (Bundle) all about? SUNY Broome Community College wants to make it easier and more affordable for you to get all of your textbooks in one convenient place. We are proud to introduce the Buzz Bundle program at the Bookstore to get you ready for the upcoming semester.
SUNY Broome students will be able to secure all the textbooks and supporting materials they need in one convenient package, at a reduced price. If you’re eligible for financial aid, you can use those funds towards the purchase of the textbooks, or you can apply for a scholarship to help cover the costs.

What is the Buzz Bundle of Books program?
The Buzz Bundle of Books is a course material model that lowers the cost of materials for students and ensures students have access to all of their required course materials on or before the first day of class.
Through this new program, physical books will be conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, and digital materials will be delivered directly within BrightSpace.
Costs will be charged to the student’s account. For the 2024-2025 year, the cost is $25 per credit hour.
At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return their physical course materials to the bookstore.
How does it work?
- Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials.
- One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you).
- An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.

How do I enroll in the Buzz Bundle of Books?
Can I opt-out of the program?
Yes, you are able to opt out of the Buzz Bundle program. For the spring 2025 semester, the opt-out window will run from Dec. 16, 2024 – Feb. 17, 2025.
Opt-Out (or back into the program)
If you choose to opt-out of the program, it is your responsibility to have the required course materials before the first day of class.
How do I change my opt-out status?
Students will be directed by email through Barnes & Noble College. Barnes and Noble College will collect students’ decisions on opt-out, opting back in.
Students who opt-out will also receive an email asking them if they wish to reconsider and opt-in.
Is Buzz Bundle available for all sessions?
Buzz Bundle is available for Fall and Spring semesters (including early and late sessions) and Summer session.
Buzz Bundle is not available for Winter session.
Learning materials may be purchased in the Bookstore or the online bookstore.
Payment
What is the cost of the Buzz Bundle?
The Buzz Bundle cost will be automatically added to your account via the registration process for each semester. If you are eligible for financial aid, you may use those funds towards the purchase of the textbooks, or apply for a scholarship to help cover the costs.
How do I pay for my textbook rentals under this program?
Costs will be charged to the student’s account.
At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return their physical course materials to the bookstore.
When are my textbook rentals due back to the bookstore?
The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals; Monday, May 19, 2025.
Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their email address.
Can I buy my rented textbook?
If I never pick up my books, will I still get charged?

How do I receive my physical materials?
To verify materials, please visit the course materials portal:
When you verify your order (sometime within the 30 days before classes start), the system will ask if you would like to pick your books up at the bookstore at no additional charge, or if you would like them shipped to you for a flat rate fee.
The fee for UPS Ground is $8.99 per order, no matter the amount of items included, and that charge can be paid using any valid online tender (including financial aid funds you may have available in the bookstore).
How do I purchase course materials if I decide to opt-out of the Buzz Bundle Program?
