Digital Content Accessibility Faculty Training (DCAFT)
In our ongoing commitment to foster inclusive education, the Instructional Designers in the Teaching Resource Center are thrilled to announce a new professional development opportunity for faculty. The Digital Content Accessibility Faculty Training (DCAFT) aims to empower educators in creating digital content that is more accessible to all learners. This fully online, asynchronous training is offered through our Brightspace Learning Management System and consists of four modules, each focusing on a particular aspect of digital content accessibility. Through completion of the modules, participants will gain an understanding of:
- The common barriers to education experienced by students with disabilities
- The Brightspace Accessibility Checker and how it can be used to help make your pages more accessible
- Anthology Ally as a tool to determine the accessibility score of your digital course materials
- Best Practices and resources for remediating inaccessible content
This training course has no formal opening or closing dates. As the offering is self-paced, you complete the modules when it works for you, on your schedule!
